Mangaluru, Jul 31: The news that Café Coffee Day proprietor V G Siddhartha went missing from the Netravati Bridge on Monday came as a shock to all, especially the business world.
While the DK district administration and police put in all efforts to search for the missing coffee king, relentless efforts of Mangaluru constituency MLA U T Khader and his brother Dr U T Ifthikar have been appreciated by all.
Both brothers were seen at the Netravati Bridge, personally manning the search operations and arranging help, equipment and support required for the same.
The missing incident took place in U T Khader’s constituency and he made sure that the search operations continued even during the night. Meanwhile, Ifthikar, who is a doctor, guided the team, advising them on water flow of the river and also taking care of the team members who faced health issues due to long hours involved in search operations. Both brothers spent two sleepless nights and were informed on Monday morning that the body of V G Siddhartha was found.
Once the body was identified, Ifthikar took up the initiative of taking the mortal remains to Wenlock Hospital for postmortem. Once Siddhartha’s body was brought to the hospital, many people started coming to the hospital. The sudden rush at the hospital caused inconvenience to other patients.
U T Khader directed the hospital staff to take special care of patients. Due to the formalities during Siddhartha’s postmortem, two other families who had come to collect the bodies of their family members were delayed. U T Khader immediately rushed to their rescue and made sure they were not further inconvenienced and ensured necessary arrangements were made.
Khader also instructed the doctors to ensure patients visiting the Wenlock Hospital were not inconvenienced in any manner.
