Udupi: Railways to run special train for annual feast of Our Lady of Health Velankanni

Udupi, Jul 31: On the special occasion of the annual feast of Our Lady of Health Velankanni shrine, Tamil Nadu Konkan railway has introduced a special train from Vasco-da-Gama to Velankanni.

The train no 07315 will begin its journey from Vasco-Da-Gama railway station on August 28, September 3 and September 6. The train will depart at 11.20 am from Vasco-Da-Gama station. This special train will reach Velankanni on August 29, September 4, and September 8 respectively.

In the press release of Railway Yatri Sangha (R) Udupi, president R L Dias informed that the special train will stop at Majorda, Madgaon, Karwar, Kumta, Honnavar, Bhatkal, Kundapur, Udupi, Mulki, Suratkal, Thokur, Mangalore junction, Kasargod, Kannur, Thalassery, Kozhikode, Shoranur junction, Palakkad junction, Podanur junction, Coimbatore junction, Coimbatore north, Tiruppur, Erode junction, Karur, Tiruchinapalli, Thanjavur, Thiruvavur junction, Nagapattanam and Velankanni railway stations.

The train will arrive at Kundapur station at 4.48 pm on the said days. It will arrive at Udupi at 5.10 pm and at Mangalore Junction at 7.20 pm. The train will reach Velankanni at 1.30 pm on the next day.

It will begin its return journey from Velankanni at 8.15 pm on the same day and reach Mangaluru junction at 1.40 pm, Udupi at 3.22 pm and Kundapur at 3.48 pm on the following day. The train will reach Vasco-Da- Gama station at 10.30 pm on its return journey.

Railway yatri Sangha (R) Udupi has requested the tourists to use the facility of this special train.
