Mangaluru, Jul 27: Former minister and Congress leader Ramanath Rai said, "Elected representatives of the district are inactive and have failed to address the problems faced due to spreading of dengue.”
Addressing media here on Saturday, July 27, Ramanath Rai said, "We condemn the attitude of the elected representatives of the district, as they were worried more about how to destabilize the government than being concerned about people suffering from dengue. Mangaluru has witnessed several dengue cases like never before and many are being treated for the same.
“Elected representatives are not bothered about people as they are enjoying in the resort thinking about how to destabilize the coalition government. It was easy for them to give directions only through phone to prevent dengue.
“Earlier, when BJP were ready to form the government, even though they did not have majority, they hoped to indulge in horse trading Congress and JD(S) leaders. It is not ‘Operation Kamala’, but ‘Horse Trade Operation Kamala’.
“The district administration is working hard and are being effective in tackling dengue,” he said.
Congress leaders Shashidhar Hegde, district Women’s Congress president Shalet Pinto and others were present.
