Kolar, Jul 26: Karnataka assembly speaker, K R Ramesh Kumar, who represents Srinivaspur assembly constituency in Kolar district, expressed the confidence that water from Yettinahole project will soon flow into Kolar and Chikkaballapur districts, which are starved of water.
He said that the governor had given his assent to the ammendment made to Land Acqusition Act, and the act has also received the approval of the President of India. Therefore, obstacles in the implementation of the project have been removed and chances of water being made available to the people of these districts from the project at at early date are bright.
He explained that the said project being a drinking water project, ammendments made to sections 23 and 24 of Land Acquisition Act will facilitate easy land acquisition. Under the ammendment, deputy commissioners, land owners and government can directly negotiate the issues and fix a satisfactory price for the land. This will facilitate early conclusion of land acquisition process," he stated. He also pointed out that the ammendments have become part of the law after their publication in the state gazette.
