Mangaluru: Beary sahitya academy awards announced

Mangaluru, Jul 26: Karnataka Beary Sahitya Academy announced the names of achievers who will be honoured with Karnataka Beary Sahitya Academy Award for the year 2018. 

Addressing media here on Thursday, July 25, academy president Karambar Mohammed said, "Zaleka Mumtaz (Beary Literature), Khaled Tannirbhavi (Beary Art) and Noor Mohammed (Beary Folk) will be conferred with Karnataka Beary Sahitya Academy Award, while V Mohammed (Lifeguard) and B M Umar Haji (Social Service) will be conferred with honourary awards. The award comprises of Rs 50,000 and memento. 

    

 

  

“The award ceremony will be held on July 27 at Ravindra Kala Mantapa, which will be inaugurated by former minister U T Khader. president of Karnataka State Minorities Commission G A Bawa will unveil the first Beary grammar book,” informed Karambar Mohammed. 

Registrar Chandrahas Rai, members Basheer Baikampady and others were present.

    nice to hear this...Being one of the languages of Tulunad, it is matter of pride for all of us...It will be good if Beary and Konkani languages can be included as optional subjects in school/colleges in Tulunad.
