Margao, Jun 5: A resident of Ponda, who posed as a bachelor and befriended the girl from Mapa Panchwadi, promising to marry her, was beaten up by the father of the girl as she came to know that he was married.
The confessions of serial killer Mahanand Naik who owned up to murdering 16 girls has put young women in the state on vigil.
According to sources, when this girl came to know that the man was married and was fooling her all along, she narrated the story to her parents.
They made a plan to catch the man red-handed and the girl asked him to meet her at their usual rendezvous.
Not knowing that her father is present, the man turned up to meet the girl and was beaten him. However he managed to escape from the spot and ran to a hospital.
Sources said that this person was working with an LPG agency.
