Mangaluru, Jul 24: 44th Founder's Day of JCI Surathkal was celebrated at Govinda Dasa College, Surathkal.
The programme was inaugurated by JCI zone 15 president, Ashok Choonthar. Speaking on the occasion he appreciated the services of the past presidents who have always been the backbone of JCI Surathkal.
As chief guest, JCI India's past vice president, JCI senator Sadananda Navuda said that JCI, an internationally functioning non-profit organisation needs to adapt to change over time to ensure that youth are enrolled.
A Prafullachandra Rai, past president of JCI Surathkal, spoke on the occasion and congratulated JCI Surathkal on its initiatives and wished success for the upcoming events.
Dedication of honour
Past presidents B A Shetty, Diwakara Acharya, Vishwanath Kottekar, Dinakara Gowda, Purushottam Rao, Chandrashekhar Navada, Suresh Amin, Madhava A, M G Ramachandra Rao, Muralidhar A, Gunawathi Ramesh, Jayesh Govind, Shreedhar Shetty Seetharam Rai, Pushpharaj Shetty, Jayarama Shetty, Mandar V Kaale, Vineeth Shetty were honoured.
JC Lokesh Pargade Memorial Trust in collaboration with JCI Surathkal, distributed scholarships to 18 eligible students of the local schools on the occasion.
A newlywed couple of JCI, Prajnesh and Shruti were felicitated and meritorious students JJC Pratham Shetty, JJC Apeksha Shetty, JC past president Seetharam Rai was sworn in as president of Lions.
The event was attended by JCI vice president JCI senator Royan Uday Crasta.
JCI president Lokesha Rai K presided over the function. Secretary Shrishy Shetty delivered the vote of thanks.
