Kundapur, July 23: The dead body of a deer that should have been in the forest, floated towards sea shore had people worried here.
Killing wild animals is a crime.
Constructing dwelling houses in areas meant for wild animals is unfair. As people are occupying forest land, wild animals have started living in Saiberkatte, Kota, Thekkatte, Vakwady, market area of Brahmavar and rural area. As wild animals are facing scarcity of food, they fall in lake, wells and sea.
Similar incident has happened in Kome sea, Thekkatte. The dead body of a deer has come floating towards the land. Local fishermen who saw it, informed about it to forest department officials and Kota police station. Kundapur zonal assistant forest officer Uday visited the spot and conducted investigations. The information was conveyed to senior officials through veterinary doctors. The last rites were conducted on the spot.
The plain and huge lakes join sea at the spot. As it is monsoon and flow of water was huge, it is possible that the animal was washed away in the lake joining the sea.
