Tumakuru, Jul 22: Former MLA and Tumakuru district central cooperative (DCC)bank president, K N Rajanna, said that the DCC bank was superseded out of enmity created by the defeat of Deve Gowda in the Lok Sabha election.
Addressing a press conference here on Sunday July 21, Rajanna said that for the benefit of farmers when granting loans, they had violated certain rules, but these violations had in no way resulted in loss to the bank or profit to any of the directors. He said that the process of scrutiny was on since 2014, and action has now been taken because of the defeat of Deve Gowda in the recent Lok Sabha election.
"I am not alone responsible for the defeat of Deve Gowda. There are others who worked behind the scenes," he said, indirectly hinting at deputy chief minister, Dr G Parameshwar. He predicted the fall of the current state government by Monday evening and expressed confidence of returning as the president of the district cooperative central bank soon.
However, deputy commissioner of the district, Dr K Rakesh Kumar, said that the said bank was superseded on account of certain financial irregularities noticed. He said that the joint registrar of cooperative societies has taken this action under the powers delegated to him.
Rajanna, a former Congress MLA, also announced that he is retiring from politics and that he will support any candidate who will be put up in Madhugiri constituency.
