Mangaluru, Jul 20: Thimmayya Kodandaram has taken over as the new assistant commissioner of police (ACP) of the city (south) subdivision.
Kodandaram had served as head of anti-corruption bureau in Bengaluru rural police station for several years before his transfer. He had served as circle police inspector in Kadri, Urva, Panambur, Kavoor and Bajpe in Dakshina Kannada district. He has also served in Bengaluru city, Mandya, CCB Bengaluru, Byatarayanapura, Vijayanagar, anti-terrorist squad, Maddur and CID.
The state government which recognized his service has honoured him by Chief Minister’s medal and gold medal. He has served in Mangaluru for 13 years out of his total service of 26 years. Taking over official charge in Mangaluru, he said that they respect those who respect the law and take action without any hesitation against those who take law into their hands. “Providing protection to ordinary people and maintaining peaceful atmosphere is my responsibility. We will take action immediately when we receive complaint. We will take legal action against anybody regardless of his status,” he said.
Rama Rao, who was the assistant police commissioner of the city (south) subdivision so far, has been transferred to Ballari.
