Bengaluru, Jul 19: The government has made it compulsory for its staff to wear identity cards during office hours. Under secretary in the state department of personnel and administrative reforms K Raveendra said that this step has been undertaken to obviate problems faced by the people visiting government employees in identifying right persons. Many people who visit government offices go back frustrated, after unsuccessfully trying to meet officers and staff concerned.

For the visitors to be able to identify the officials, this order has been issued. The cards which will be provided by the department will have name, designation, and details of the department concerned. The department has asked the concerned officials to initiative disciplinary action against those who attend office without wearing such cards and if members of the general public or others complain about it.
