Mangaluru, Jul 19: "The owner of a fancy store at Mudipu has sexually harassed a girl instead of concentrating on his business. Not only student organizations and entities working for a particular community, but the entire society should stand up against such crimes," felt Radhakrishna Adyantaya, leader of Hindu Jagran Vedike.
He was addressing the participants of a mega protest organized recently, to register anger at the incident in which a student was sexually harassed by the owner of a fancy store at Mudipu.
Basavesh, divisional organizing secretary of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), said that the law of the land has enough provisions for the culprits getting involved with crimes to come out on bail within half an hour. He therefore advocated a strong law in which every criminal gets punishment for his deeds. He felt that unless there is fear of law among the people, incidents of this kind will continue to occur.
Leader of Hindu organization T G Rajaram Bhat, ABVP city division convener Ashish and others were present. Policemen of the commissionerate here looked after the law and order situation in association with Konaje police station.
