Mangalore: Sorake Holds Ramanath Rai Responsible for Party's Failure

Mangalore, Jun 2: The dissidence within the Dakshina Kannada Congress Committee came into the open at the introspection meet organized by the party here on Sunday May 31.

Both former Member of Parliament Vinay Kumar Sorake and party leader P V Mohan are understood to have launched a diatribe against district Congress Committee president Ramanath Rai for the defeat of party candidate in the Lok Sabha constituency, B Janardhan Poojary. Both the leaders pointed fingers at Rai and asked him to shoulder the entire responsibility for the party's debacle.

They said, all the block presidents of the party had jointly conveyed their unanimous support for the candidature of Janardhjn Poojary, to party general secretary Ghulam Nabi Azad, under the leadership of Ramanath Rai. Their main ire was at the lack of enthusiasm and plan of action on the part of the district leadership to ensure that Poojary wins this Lok sabha seat. The meeting is understood to have stretched to over three hours.

    Mr. Sorake deserve to be the President of DK Congress and as a politician he has many good qualities.

    It is high time that congress men should stop pinpointing at each other .they have to take a collective decesion by bringing together all the grass root leaders and give them some importance rather than leaders who have joined the party recently and have being given big portfolios in the party.
