Mangaluru, Jul 16: A youth orientation programme, 'Yuva Shathi', was held by ICYM Bajjodi on July 14 at Infant Mary Church Hall, Bajjodi.
The inaugural programme started with a prayer song lead by the youth group. Pranitha Pinto welcomed the gathering. Sr Pearl Anne AC presided as the chief guest. Parish priest Fr Ivan D'souza, companion priest Fr Patrick Lobo, vice president Joseph Mascarenhas, secretary Irene Pinto and coordinators Deepak and Sr Roopa inaugurated the Yuva Shathi programme. Fr Ivan D'souza in his message to the youth highlighted on the year of youth and invoked leadership qualities in them.
The orientation session began with an ice breaking session lead by Sr Pearl Anne AC. In her sessions she highlighted on the real power of youth through an action game on values, inspirational stories like the chicken and the eagle, and many mind blowing activities. During her session, she said, “We put a lot of limits in life rather than taking risks of trying. A change comes from within you and that make you thrive stronger and higher like the eagle.”
Youths had a fun fulfilled day with many action songs lead by the city varado president Ivy D'Souza and secretary Sapna Gonsalves.
The youth also witnessed the presence of Leon Saldanha as well as Veena Vas, president and secretary of central council of Mangaluru diocese respectively.
Leon Saldhana in his message encouraged the youth and said that he was happy to see the youth actively involved in the programme. “The unit already is filled with youth power,” he said and assured his support n guidance to the ICYM units of Mangaluru diocese.
The programme was compered by Heethal Pereira. Glen delivered the words of gratitude to the gathering. The convenor of the programme was Vreethan Pinto.
