Media Release

Mangaluru, Jul 15: Catholic Sabha Mangaluru Pradesh (R) Angelore unit on July 14 organised Senior Citizens Day for all the parishioners of Angelore at the Golden Jubilee Memorial Hall.

The celebration began with holy mass.

More than 150 senior citizens of the parish participated in the programme. Fr William Menezes parish priest delivered the message that seniors in the family are a blessing and they are to be honoured, respected and taken care of by the younger members of the family.

Judith Carlo, retired lecturer of St Aloysius College addressed the gathering. In her message, she suggested to the seniors ways to spend the remaining days of their lives usefully and happily. Age is only a number. She said all that we could not do when we were young or while in service can be achieved after retirement. She asked the senior citizens to engage themselves in hobbies like gardening, travelling etc and to keep themselves happy with positive thinking.

Albert Lasrado, president of Catholic Sabha welcomed the gathering. Judith D’Souza conducted the programme and Roshan Patrao proposed the vote of thanks. Few games were conducted for the seniors and prizes were distributed which made them feel young.
