Udupi, Jul 14: Social worker Vishu Shetty on Saturday July 13 helped a mother and two children at Udupi railway station who were homeless.
The lady is identified as Parvathi, a resident of Belagavi. Parvathi was working in Goa from last 15 years. Her husband had passed away three years ago. She was working as a daily wage worker and was looking after her three children and their education. The woman had left her one girl child with an organisation. After her husband's death, she was neglected by her family. She then left to Goa with her two male children. The boys were studying in an English medium school in Goa in classes 10 and 7.
Vishu Shetty and the railway police received information about the abandoned family. As the mother and children denied to stay separately in two rescue centres which are State Women Cell and Children Rescue Centre, Vishu Shetty arranged a PG in Udupi for the family's stay.
Vishu Shetty has also urged the local English medium schools and educational department to arrange for the children's education.
Railway police, women’s police station had taken part in the rescue operation.
