Bengaluru, Jul 2: Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader Siddaramaiah targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi and union home minister Amit Shah and said they were responsible for the collapse of the coalition government in Karnataka.
He made this statement in city after a day of two of the Congress MLAs, Anand Singh and Ramesh Jarkiholi resigned causing unrest among the rest.
Siddaramaiah, who is chairman of Congress-JD(S) coalition coordination committee, said that BJP has been conspiring regardless of their claims of having no involvement. In regards to whether MLAs, Singh and Jarkiholi have been contacted or not, Siddaramaiah said, "I am not able to contact them on the phone." He asserted that no MLA would quit the party. "The government is 100% safe."
Meanwhile, higher education minister GT Deve Gowda’s statement came in contradiction to Siddaramaiah's statement. Gowda in his comment said, “Modi and Shah are not doing anything to destabilize this government. They are thinking about what to do for the nation, for Kashmir, how to deal with China and the US. Modi has promised a farmer-friendly budget on July 5. They are busy with that.”
