Mangalore, May 17: The inaugural of the ten-day cultural celebrations titled 'Bindupurotsava,' will be held at Byndoor on Saturday May 17.
The event is being jointly organized by Unesco Club and Yascords.
U Chandrashekar Holla, distrcit Sahitya Parishat president, will inaugurate the event.
As a part of the occasion, the three award winning films of Girish Kasaravalli, 'Tayi Saheba', ‘Gulabi Talkies' and 'Krourya', will be shown in the regional film festival to be held for three days from Saturday May 17.
A Rangoli competition will be held on Tuesday May 19, while a play, 'Hoovu,' directed by Girish Karnad, will be performed by the 'Namma Tuluver' team on Wednesday May 20.
The Akashvani poets conference and children’s cultural festival will be held on Thursday May 21. The Idugunji Mela will present a Yakshagana performance at Yakshotsava on Friday May 22.
A dance performance about 'Sapta Matrakeyaru,' will be held at the ‘Nrityotsava’ on Saturday May 23. An art exhibition on 'Earth-Life- Art' will be held at Kabse on Sunday May 24 and Monday May 25, said Sudhakar P Byndoor, director, in a release.
