Mangalore, May 14: Through a release, the office of the Dakshina Kannada district deputy commissioner has informed, that the following alternative arrangements will be in place around Canara College in the city, in view of the fact that counting of Lok Sabha election votes will be taken up on Saturday May 16 at Canara College. These arrangements will be in place from 6 am on May 16, till the counting concludes.
1. Parking of vehicles in front of Deepa Comforts building has been banned.
2. Entry of vehicles towards the counting venue either from the direction of the Jail Junction or the Besant Junction, has been completely banned, except the vehicles of the election commission and police officials vehicles.
3. Parking of all kinds of vehicles has been banned from P V S Circle to Ballal Bagh Junction and again from the Jail Junction to Kori Rotti Junction.
4. Provision has been made for the parking of all types of vehicles at the vacant plot opposite Dr T M A Pai Convention Centre.
5. Arrangements have been made to park vehicles of police officials, election on duty officials and other officials in the compound of the school by the side of Jail Road.
6. The vehicles of election officers, election observers, district superintendent of police,, assistant election officers, additional election officers, police officials on duty at the counting centre, fire brigade and emergency treatment unit vehicles can be parked in the compound of the vote counting centre.
