Udupi, May 3: Udupi district has topped the State in the SSLC examination. However Brahmavar zone in Udupi district has topped in Udupi district.
As many as 17,200 students had appeared for the SSLC examination in Udupi district. The total pass percentage is 86. Udupi district had topped the State in 2005 and 2006. However, in 2007 it slipped to second place and in 2008 to third place. In Brahmavar zone, of the 1,803 students, 1,706 students have passed with a percentage of 92.44. Of the 50 high schools in Brahmavar, Government High School, Kavadi; Vani School, Nadoor; BMM High School, Kooradi; National English Medium School, Barkur; SMS English Medium School, Brahmavar; and Viveka English Medium School, Kota, have secured cent per cent results.
Speaking to Deccan Herald, DDPI K Anand said: “the department had adopted a systematic approach to get good results.
Remedial teaching was provided to students so that they picked up subjects in which they were weak.
Teachers also took special classes to those students who were weak in subjects.”
