Mangaluru: Fifth novena day of Saint Anthony’s annual feast observed

Mangaluru, Jun 3: Saint Anthony’s Feast - Fifth day novena was held at St Anthony’s Ashram Chapel, on June 4 at St Anthony’s Ashram chapel, Jeppu.

Fr Roshan D’Souza, assistant director of St Anthony’s Ashram, offered mass for the intention of religious. Half a day retreat was held at the Ashram as it was the first Tuesday of the month .

Fr Onil D’Souza, director of the Ashram preaching the homily said ‘Do not store up treasures for yourself in earth but in heaven’ Mt 6: 19-21. The time, talents and resources God has given are to be used to earn virtues which help us to attain heaven. A life of service, love, forgiveness, charity help us to enter into heaven. Jesus invites us to live such kind of life if we wish to be with God in eternity, he said.

Fr Onil also conducted the chaplet, rosary for the special intention of onset of timely monsoons and adoration to the Blessed Sacrament and invoked blessings on the people.

Fr Thrishan D’Souza the assistant director of the ashram conducted the novena. Brother Ronald D’Souza and Shanthi Pinto conducted the praise and worship. A large number of people participated in the devotion.
