Mangaluru, Jun 1: ICYM Central Council of the diocese in association with ICYM Venur unit, ICYM Beltangady deanery and Venur grama panchayat organised 'Namma Kheray Swaacha Kheray'.
Indian Catholic Youth Movement, Central Council, of the diocese in association with ICYM Venur Unit, ICYM Beltangady deanery and Venur grama panchayat on the occasion of Year of Youth recently organised 'Namma Kheray Swaacha Kheray' a cleanliness drive programme at Ajilakere Lake, Venur.
The programme commenced with a formal inauguration. Fr Ronald Prakash Dsouza, director, ICYM Mangaluru diocese presided over the programme along with Fr Basil Vas, director, ICYM Beltangady deanery, Fr Peter Aranha, parish priest/director ICYM Christ King Church, Venur, Fr Ashwin Lohith Cardoza, assistant director, ICYM Mangaluru diocese, Ganapathi Shastri, tahsildar, Beltangady taluk, Mohini Shetty, president, Venur grama panchayat, P Dharmendra Kumar, member, Naravi zilla panchayat, Arun Crasta, vice president, Venur grama panchayat, Ronald Dsouza, vice president and Steevan Dcunha, secretary Venur Parish Pastoral Council, Sr Shalini, headmistress, Navachethana School, Venur, Arun Dsouza and Sr Wilma, animator, ICYM Venur unit, Delson Dsouza, president and Reshma Fernandes, secretary, ICYM Venur unit, Vivian S Fernandes, president and Prashanth Pinto, secretary, ICYM Beltangady deanery, Anup Pais and other local leaders were present at the programme.
Jaison Leroy Pereira - president, ICYM Mangaluru diocese welcomed the guests and the gathering. Ganapathi Shastri inaugurated the programme and addressed the gathering with words of appreciation to the youth for their young spirit in joining hands for a good cause. Fr Basil Vas appreciated the youth for initiating a wonderful event and requested to continue the same youth spirit in the future too. Fevisha Monteiro - general secretary, ICYM Mangaluru diocese proposed the vote of thanks. Stany Dsouza compered the programme.
A total of 150 youths took part in the programme.
