Mangaluru, May 30: Girija Charitable Trust (R), here will organise a green environment initiative 'Mangalore Bloom' at Ladyhill Junction on Sunday June 2 at 7.30 am.
Girija Charitable Trust (R) has organised many charitable works for the last 15 years. They have distributed books and scholarships to many poor students. The founder chairman C A Lokesh Puthran is the brain behind this initiative. Puthran is a resident of Boloor, here and has been the senior partner of Puthran Chartered Accountants, Dubai for the last four decades.
One of the philanthropic objectives of Girija Charitable Trust ®, is to beautify the city by planting colourful flower plants at the centre of the road dividers to make it look beautiful and charming to the eyes and relaxing to the mind. For the past four decades Puthran saw the conversion of Dubai from a desert to a colourful garden city throughout the year. When our Prime Minister started Swachh Bharat five years ago, it was in his mind that we should implement the concept in the city of Mangaluru by beautifying it with colourful flowers and greenery.
For this purpose the inaugural ceremony of 'Mangalore Bloom' is held on Sunday June 2 at Ladyhill junction. Ekagamyananda Swamiji consented to grace the occasion by lighting a lamp alongside distinguished guests Fr Stany Pereira, parish priest, Urwa Church, Vedavyasa Kamath, MLA Mangaluru south constituency, L S Linge Gowda, executive engineer Mangalore City Corporation, C S Rajshekhra Hebbar C, principal, DPSP, First Grade College Mangaluru, CA S S Nayak, Chandrashekhar Shetty, chairman Sanathana Natyalaya ®, Jayanthi Achar, former corporator Mannagudda ward, Latha K Salian, former corporator Boloor ward.
