Mangaluru, May 27: Primary and high schools in the state are set to reopen on May 29 after summer holidays. Although the threat of water shortage looms large, as of now, there is no change in the decision of the department to reopen the schools on May 29.
The officials in the department of education say that wherever water shortage is acute, schools have to take a stand on whether there is need to allow the students to go home after the forenoon classes.
This decision has to be conveyed to block education officers and either the deputy commissioner of the district concerned or the government has to take a stand on such proposals, they added.
