Udupi, Apr 19: Third Front candidate for Udupi-Chikmagalur constituency Radha Sundaresh started her campaigning in the district through a road show, approaching every individual on the street and addressing the public at every key junction.
She said that the party was engaged in group meetings preparing local supporters and SHG workers to involve in campaigning on behalf of the candidate. It is difficult to meet every individual during the Parliamentary polls since the area to be covered is large compared to the Assembly constituencies, she added.
She said that she would approach the voters seeking their support highlighting the poll manifesto of the party besides urging public to discard the most corrupt BJP and its ‘operation kamala.’ Don’t vote for those who migrate to other parties and embrace fake ideologies, she appealed.
The BJP rule has made the State corrupt in the history of the land. People should be aware of the fact that these bogus political leaders come to them only during the time of elections and they vanish with their pledges once the work gets over.
The corruption is not at the low level and all the high level officers are involved in fraud. People are given an one time opportunity to cast their right and it is during elections that they have the right to realise the rights and wrongs. Public should not ignore the chance and should go for the perfect candidate with faultless attributes, she said.
Plea to Naxalites
Radha Sundaresh called upon the Naxalites to shed their arms and come to the negotiation table to discuss the problems. Bullets and violence are not the answer for the injustices meted to them. They should rather involve themselves in the mainstream of the society and cast their vote to the suitable candidate. Ballot can bring in memorable changes. The Naxalites are right in their own way and there seems no wrong in their ideologies, but the way they adopt to reach their targets is highly objectionable. Lay men are made the victims, she condemned. The party will take suitable measures to curb terrorism all over the country if it comes to power, she added.
JD(S) leaders Deviprasad Shetty, Vittal CPI(M) Secretary Vishwanath Rai were among others accompanied Radha Sundaresh during her road show.
