Kasargod, May 21: The investigation team of the crime branch which investigated the murders of youth Congress workers from Periya Kalyot, Sharathlal and Kripesh, has filed charge sheet in the court. It was filed in the court of the judicial magistrate at Hosdurg. The team has concluded that the murders were the result of personal enmity arising out of opposing political ideologies.

The main conspirators of this crime have been identied as CPM Periya local committee member, Pitambaram, and his friend, Saji C George. Pitamber had nursed personal grouse against Sharathlal and Kripesh, it is said. The team has said that eight people including Pitambaran and Saji had committed these murders. Six others have been arrested on the charge of helping the accused in the crime. 229 witnesses, 105 items including vehicles, and 50 exhibits have been furnished to the court. The charge sheet, which runs into a thousand pages, was submitted on the 92nd day of the crime.

All the accused involved with the murder case have been arrested. They are in judicial custody. Three of the accused including CPM Uduma unit secretary, K Manikantan, and Uduma CPM local secretary, N Balakrishnan, have already secured bail.

Kripesh (21),son of Krishnan, a construction painter by profession living near Kalyot temple, and Sharathlal (22), son of Satyanarayana from Kalyot had been stabbed to death by the acused who arrived in a jeep near Kalyot on February 21 this year when the victims were travelling in a motor bike.

Kripesh, who had sustained grievous injuries, had breathed his last on the spot. Sharathlal was being taken to a hospital at Mangaluru with critical injuries, when he breathe dhis last on the way.
