Bangalore, Apr 15: The comparative statistics brought out by 'Election Watch' organization about the Lok Sabha candidates fighting from different parties, reveals some interesting facts.
Ex-chief minister Kumaraswamy had shown the value of his assets at the time he fought the assembly election in the year 2008, as 30.20 crore. However, in the present Lok Sabha election, the value of his assets has spurted to Rs 48.48 crore within ten months, in spite of recession!
Likewise, ex-chief minister Dharam Singh, who was defeated after entering the fray for the assembly election, last year, had declared assets worth Rs 96 lac. This time around, Singh, a Congress candidate from Bidar, has declared assets worth Rs 14.24 crore, showing a jump by about 15 times within a year. This is interesting in view of the fact that Dharam Singh was defeated in the election and is no more a legislator, let alone being the Chief Minister.
C P Yogeshwar, who had fought the assembly election from Channapatna last year, owned assets worth Rs 3.52 crore. But now, the value of his assets has seen nearly a three-fold increase, at Rs 9.04 crore.
Major loser however, appears to be P C Mohan, BJP candidate from Bangalore Central Lok Sabha constituency. He had contested as a BJP candidate last year from Gandhinagar assembly constituency, showing assets of Rs 14.94 crore. This time, the value of his assets has nosedived to just Rs 5.37 crore.
