Mangaluru, May 17: Deacons Joseph Kiran Monteiro, son of Alwyn Monteiro and Marceline Lobo from Infant Jesus Church, Modankap and Arvin John Dcunha son of Alex Dcunha and Janet Lobo from Mother of God Church, Mogarnad were ordained priests on May 9, at Mother of God Church, Mogarnad by Bishop of Mangaluru diocese Dr Peter Paul Saldanha.

Fr. Joseph Kiran Monteiro and Fr. Arvin John Dcunha belong to the Society of the Missionaries of St. Francis Xavier, Pilar, commonly known as Pilar Fathers. The newly ordained priests concelebrated the Holy Eucharist with the Bishop.

In a Holy Eucharist presided over by Dr Peter Paul Saldanha the bishop of Mangaluru diocese, anointed the deacons as priests and welcomed them to the fraternity of clergymen.

Dr Peter Paul Saldanha presided over the felicitation programme and greeted the new priests and thanked their parents for being generous to give their sons to serve as priests.

Many priests, religious and faithful took part in the ordination ceremony.

Everyone congratulated Fr Kiran and Fr Arvin and wished them all the very best in their mission which they are entrusted.
