Mangalore: Naushad Murder - Police yet to Achieve Breakthrough

Mangalore, Apr 14: The four teams already formed to find out those involved with the murder of advocate Naushad Khasim, have been trying their best to achieve breakthroughs, informed Dakshina Kannada superintendent of police Dr A Subrahmanyeshwar Rao. The policemen are also examining the possible role of underworld in the murder, he added.

When reporters asked him about the non-registration of the First Information Report (FIR) based on a complaint lodged by senior advocate Purushottam Poojary, he said a FIR has already been registered, based on the eyewitness accounts about the murder. The information given by Poojary will also be taken into account during the investigation, he assured.

    Can anyone tell me why the police shy's away from registering an FIR! The police refuses on one ground or the other. This gives them room to play politics. Registering FIR has to be people friendly. There should be an alternative means (other than courts) in case the police refuse it.

    Precious time is lost when you seek courts intervention to lodge an FIR. Why are our politicians silent on making procedures simple and transparent for the people in a police station. Any guess.

    Don't expect justice from these police force. They are just playing with life of opponents. If someone seeks justice from these police they should consider themselves as fools.
