Karkala, May 16: Humanity Trust in Belman, Karkala, which has been doing social work has helped the needy with more than Rs three crore during the last two years. The trust which was established on May 17, 2017 in Belman has completed more than 375 schemes.
Humanity trust help includes new houses for those who are deprived of shelter, house repairs, scholarships for poor students, medical treatment of the poor, monthly pension for the differently abled and mental patients, helping hand to poor people, help during weddings, facilities to government schools, compensation during natural calamities, last rites of orphans, support to orphanages, clothes to poor and the weak, help to third gender and aids patients, programmes to create positive attitude towards them, awareness on environment and solutions, picnic and entertainment for poor children deprived of entertainment and job opportunities to some unemployed people.
Humanity trust which has been helping all the needy without considering religion or caste has received felicitations from all the communities including from Dubai, Kuwait and Qatar. Trust founder Roshan Belman has received Pingara Rajyotsava award at a young age.
People who are in need of financial help from undivided Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Chikkamagalur, Davangere, Shivamogga, Bengaluru, Chitradurga and other places visit the trust. The trust has helped them as far as possible. It has taken up project worth Rs five lac during Deepavali and has distributed the amount at the rate of Rs 50,000 among ten families.
Documentary about third gender
The trust has produced a film based on exploitation of third gender and handed over Rs one lac collected from it to them. It has held a day’s picnic for aids affected children and handed over Rs one lac for their treatment. The trust has donated Rs four lacs to Dombi community which has lost their house and belongings in a fire mishap.
The trust has indulged in the work of wiping the tears of distraught by unceasing thoughts that they should do something for the society. It uses social media, collects large sums by crowd funding and distributes it among the weak in the society. The success of the trust is due to generous donors.
