Mangaluru, May 12: Msgr Ronald Cardoza was appointed the new vicar general of the Diocese of Chikkamagaluru. This was announced by the Dr T Anthony Swamy, Bishop of Chikkamagaluru after the consulters’ meeting at the Bishop' Office, Chikkamagaluru.
Msgr Ronald hails from Chikkamagaluru cathedral parish. Born on May 31, 1965 he was ordained at the age of 25. At present, he is the parish priest of St Anthony's Church Hassan and the Dean of Hassan Deanery.
During his 28 years of priesthood, he has served in various capacities as the assistant parish priest of Sakleshpur - Sundekere, parish priest of Kadur, Tarikere, Santaveri, editor and publisher of Navajyothi, regional secretary of Karnataka for the proclamation commission, PMS etc. He has been giving his service in different committees both regional and national.
He holds various academic honours like Honorary Doctorate (D.Litt.), M.Sc. in Psychotherapy and Counselling, Licentiate in Theology, Diploma in New Evangelization from Rome and Czech Republic, RMP in Alternative Medicine, Diploma in Journalism. He has presented a thesis on Psycho Biblical perspective in Counselling. He is the founder director of 3E Foundation of Education Empowerment Enlightenment for student’s teachers and parents. He is an active member and resource person of Prolife International. He has guided retreats for priests religious and laity, seminars on various themes across the country.
He has several articles, hymns and booklets to his credit. He is also a regular speaker on radio.
