Mangalore, Apr 8: Students are advised to perform worthy deeds for society along with pursuing their studies, said Prof Nagesh Prabhu.
Dr Prabhu was speaking at the inauguration of a blood donation camp held at Canara Engineering College, Benjanapadav, near here, recently. It was jointly organized by the NSS Unit of Canara Engineering College and Canara Bank Officers’ Association (CBOA).
CBOA secretary P B Prabhakar said that their Association has been involved in addressing various issues of its members, besides undertaking humanitarian tasks such as blood donation, and monetary help to the poor and needy students of society.
CBOA regional secretary A S Bhat said that NSS students get happiness in life by partaking in social welfare activities.
Dr Suchitra Rao highlighted the significance of organizing blood donation camps.
CBOA office-bearers Laxmikant Nayak, Ramesh Nayak, Canara Bank Benjanpadav branch manager Nitin Mathre, and Dr Ranjita were present on the dais.
Canara Engineering College NSS unit officer Narayanaswamy was also present on the occasion.
College assistant professor B Krishna Prabhu compered the programme.
Around 136 donors donated blood at the camp.
