Kundapur, Apr 6: The ‘Koti Gayatri Mahayaga’ was held at the Sri Math of Balekudru, Brahmavar, recently.
Speaking after inaugurating the programme, Sri Vamanashrama Swami, Sri Samstan Math, Haladipura, said that the importance of the ‘Gayatri mantra’ must be learned from elders and preached among youngsters. He stressed that the hymn has the power to bring peace all over the country.
Sri Narasimhashrama Swami, Balekudru Sri Math, delivered the benedictory speech on the occasion.
Presiding over the function, B Bhimerao Joshi, trustee, Horanadu Annapoorneshwari Temple, said, “There are different ways in society to preserve the physical health of the person and the Gayatri mantra is one of them. People from foreign countries come to India to introduce themselves to the culture”.
Vasudev Bhat, manager, Sri Math, delivered the introductory speech. B Rajaram Bhat, working president, committee, welcomed the gathering. K Rajaram Aital and G Ramachandra Aital compered the programme.
Dr B G Sabhajit, trustee, Honnavar Idugunji Temple, Capatain Varma, Tebma Shipyard, Shankaranarayan Aital, Teertahalli, and Pradeep Kumar Kalkura, president, Kannada Sahitya Parishat, Dakshina Kannada district, were present on the occasion.
