Indian Navy's first ever largest patrol vessel 'Saryu' was launched by Smt Maria Teresa Mehta, wife of the Chief of Naval staff Admiral Sureesh Mehta in the presence of latter at the Goa Shipyard in Vasco. The 105 meters long vessel is powered with a top speed of 25 knots and is primarily aimed at meeting the increasing requirement of the Indian Navy for surveillance and accomplishing surface warfare operations.
