Kundapur, Mar 29: V M Kumaraswamy, president of ‘EE-Kavi’, an international forum for all Kannada protagonists, in a recent press conference here urged the state administration to develop Kannada software by appointing software consultants so that the fragrance of this classical language will cover every nook and corner of this planet.
Meanwhile, he pointed out that the Sarojini Mahesh report has been gathering dust, as a result of which around 80 percent of rural youth are jobless. Besides, the Nanjundappa Commission report was also not at implemented owing to which the people of Northern Karnataka were left in the lurch, he added.
Kumaraswamy cautioned that the coming days would prove disastrous to the people especially of the rural area of Northern Karnataka, despite the initiative taken and the interest shown by EE-Kavi, in adopting least developed villages and their ill-equipped schools where bureaucrats show little enthusiasm in implementing the scheme.
The six months of follow-ups with department officers resulted in the adoption of Keradi School here that proves the callousness of the department. The EE-Kavi Institute was founded in 2004 and its presence is being felt in 11 districts with plans to cover the rest of the 18 districts shortly.
U S Shenoy, Kiran C V, Sanhya, Sheela Chandrashaker, and Ramanand Kamath were present at the press meet.
