Congress’ Panaji candidate Babush Monserratte kick starts campaign

Panaji, Apr 25: With few hours left to file nomination for Panaji seat, Congress’ Candidate for Panaji by-election Babush Monserratte has begun his campaign.

Monserratte addressed meeting of the party workers at his residence on Wednesday evening while today he was seen touring the areas of Mala, Fountainhas.

While BJP is yet to announce its candidate, Monserratte has started covering maximum ground taking along the section of leaders who have stood with him. The corporators from Corporation of City of Panaji who owe alliegiance to him will be working overtime for his victory.

What is interesting is that the leaders like Yatin Parekh and Surendra Furtado who were aspiring for Congress ticket in Panaji by-election are yet to come out in support of Monserratte.

Parekh has been considered as a prominent supporter of Monserratte.

Meanwhile, Monserratte will file his nomination tomorrow at 10.30 a.m.
