Bengaluru, Apr 25: JD(S) national president, H D Deve Gowda, has clarified that his party will not be fielding its candidates in the bypoll for Kundagol and Chincholi assembly constituencies. He asserted that his party will not field its candidates for both these bypolls.
Speaking to media persons at his residence at Padmanabhanagarhere on Wednesday Apri 24, Gowda pointed out that both these constituencies were represented in the past by Congress candidates. He said besides allowing Congress to field its candidates, his party will perform its coalition duty of making efforts to ensure victory of Congress candidates.
About Congress MLA, Ramesh Jarkihoi's resignation, Deve Gowda said he is not very conversant with this issue and that the chief minster, H D Kumaraswmy, is handling such matters.
Core committee: In the meantime, BJP state core committee would be meeting here on Thursday to choose probables for the above two vacant seats for which bypolls would be held shortly. He said that office bearers of the party from Kalaburagi and Dharwad districts have been invited for the meeting. BJP general secretary, Aravind Limbavali, said that discussions would be held with all the people's representatives including the party office bearers before taking a final decision.
