Bangalore, Mar 29: “Those two words ‘faith and toil’ (St. Joseph’s College Motto) has pushed me through life and whatever I am today, I feel completely obliged to this institution. Today coming here is like coming home” said Justice Ramohan Reddy as he nostalgically remembered his 1973 batch of classmates and the lecturers of his time. Justice Reddy was presiding over the launch of the Alumni website (http://www.sjc-alumni.com)
“The fathers at this institution taught us the nuances of life even more than academics and that is what has shaped our vision of life” Justice Reddy told fellow alumni at the function. Justice Reddy observed even as he nostalgically recalled the ‘pranks’ they played in college, how committed the lecturers of the college are. He humorously remarked “It is hard to believe how we pranksters have now become so responsible in life”.
Immediate past- president Frank Noronha, Director of the Press Information Bureau (New Delhi), President of the Alumni, Laxminarayan who is Secretary to the Chief Minister of Karnataka, Fr. Melwin Pinto, Director of the Alumni Association, Rajkumar (Secretary) and Vice Presidents David Sagayaraj and Vimal Parthasarthy, Staff CO-ordinator and lecturer Clement and Vice principal Fr. Clarence were among those present for the website launch. Rev. Dr. Ambrose Pinto, Principal of the College, recalling how a Josephite identified him while he was walking on a street in New York, said “What strikes me most is the sense of oneness that Josephites cultivate as they study in our institutions. It is my fervent hope that website will help connect with each other”
