Mangalore, Mar 25: Since the BJP as well as the Congress have failed to the satisfaction of the citizens of the state, the third front candidates have a golden opportunity to come out victorious in the coming election. The days of a single party garnering highest votes everywhere are over. No party can be said to have the backing of committed supporters under the current circumstances, said Anant Subba Rao, CPI leader, speaking at a press conference held here on Tuesday March 24.
The world identifies Mangalore city with the incidents of frequent communal violence. The communally driven parties have failed to fulfill the aspirations of the f common man, he said.
BJP claims, it would build the Ram Mandir. At the same time, never plans to provide shelter for the homeless people, he criticized.
Though the Election Commission has restrained Varun Gandhi from contesting the election from Philibit constituency, the BJP is trying to ignore the instructions and confront the Commission, which lays bare its hidden agenda, he explained.
There is a need for the Third front presence in Dakshina Kannada apart from the communal parties. The Dakshina Kannada constituency has been allocated by the Third Front constituents to the CPI (M), said K B Balaraj Rai, district president, JDS.
B Madhav, K R Sriyan and Vasant Achary were present at the press conference.
