Koppal, Apr 20: The fact that former chief minister and chairman of the coordination committee of the coalition government, Siddaramaiah, continues to nurse the ambition to become the chief minister of the state again, was revealed by him here.
Siddaramaiah, speaking at an election campaign meeting for the party candidate at Koppal, sent shock waves through the leaders of his own party and those in the JD(S) by announcing that if he becomes chief minister again, he would increase the monthly quota of rice per ration card to ten kg per month from the current seven kg.
This announcement gave rise to debate among the coalition leaders. It also made some to initiate discussions about the possibility of the future of the coalition government facing jeopardy.
In the meanwhile, commenting about the said statement, chief minister, Kumaraswamy, said that there is nothing wrong in what Siddaramaiah said. He added that everything happens as per one's destiny and individuals have least control over such things.
