Mangaluru, Apr 17: Union minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Thawar Chand Gehlot said," BJP will secure majority of the seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections and form the government with two-third majority.
Addressing media here on Tuesday, April 16, Gehlot said, "Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is being recognised globally. The recent decision on country's security has made people to have faith in Modi. People will vote for BJP candidates and elect Modi as the prime minister for the second term.”
Gehlot lashed out at Congress president Rahul Gandhi and said, “In a bid to trap BJP government in Rafale deal, Rahul Gandhi insulted the Supreme Court by saying that Supreme Court itself had admitted 'Chowkidar Chor Hai'. But in reality, Supreme Court did not say what Rahul had claimed, but it had said that the documents pertaining to the Rafale deal can be examined. As it is the contempt of court, Meenakshi Lekhi already moved the Supreme Court, seeking action against Rahul. He should apologise not only to the court but also to the public.”
Gehlot also claimed that BJP is not anti-Dalit as claimed by Congress. “The government did justice to Dr BR Ambedkar's legacy by developing five important places related to his life as national monuments.”
Describing PM Modi as the real crusader taking forward the legacy of Dr Ambedkar Gehlot, he said that BJP under PM Modi is for Dalits and backwards castes. “It is only BJP that can deliver justice to them,” he said.
"Congress has been safeguarding the interests of separatists in Kashmir. Kashmir is a part and parcel of our country and there is no question of entertaining the interests of separatists,” Gehlot added.
MLAs Dr Bharath Shetty, D Vedavyas Kamath, former MLCs Monappa Bhandary and Capt Ganesh Karnik were present.
