Bengaluru, Apr 16: Jnanaprakash swamiji has claimed that the constitution of India which is known for diversity is under threat.
There is a continuous attempt to derail the constitution and the plural and diverse identity of our nation is under threat. BJP MP Sakshi Maharaj has openly given a statement that if mission 365 is successful, it would be the last election hinting to that of presidential election. He said that there will not be any general election anymore and also he has talked about changing the present constitution.
It is not an election. It is a fight between democracy, its principles and human values. Voters must cast their votes carefully. We need to protect our constitution, our culture, our languages and diversity. Hence in this election, electorate plays a crucial role in deciding the country's future. Hence I request not to consider the general election lightly. Supreme Court judge itself has claimed that there is no democracy in this country at present.
Reacting to reports that there is a false propaganda about re-drafting of the Constitution, he said, "If a party wins two-third majority, they can easily abolish the constitution. Similar to that of demonetization, the government can do anything as army, judiciary will be in their hands. If a cabinet-level minister talks of changing the Constitution what more evidence we need to prove? he asked.
Another lecturer named Bal Gangadhar claims that they do not accept the present constitution. He said without naming any party and indirectly taking a dig at Modi government, "The lecturer has gone to an extent of saying at the behest of the ruling government that already a draft of new constitution is ready."
"The recent decision to prove 10% reservation to upper caste, the Modi government has amended the constitution and burnt it in and out. Voters need to support a party which upholds constitutional values or else the poor will remain poor and ultimately the country will face dictatorship and slavery," he added.
Talking about Mysuru-Kodagu MP Prathap Simha, the swamiji said that voters are not fools to believe in whatever the candidates speak as the elections are near. "Instead of making false promises, let them produce white paper of their achievements during their tenure as MP. After winning the election, they divide people on the basis of religion. Voters must reject those who seek votes in the name of religion," he said.
To those who blindly follow Narendra Modi, he said, "This is not a country which belongs to only Modi. It belongs to 130 crore citizens. Modi government has not talked about its achievements. The poor, the downtrodden and the soul of our country, the farmer community has not received anything from Modi government. He does not even face journalists. Even in Parliament he does not take questions. It is andha bhakti (blind faith). In this election, there are chances of votes getting split as there are reports that the Dalit youth have decided to vote for BSP. I urge them in this crucial situation, not to help the BJP which has a divisive agenda and instead support a secular party.
