Mangaluru, Apr 15: The rural police personnel from here have succeeded in arresting a person who allegedly tried to kill a person four days back. The arrest was made on Sunday April 14.
The arrested accused happens to be Nizam (23), resident of Mallur Uddabettu. Ansar from Ulaibettu, who happens to be the other accused in the case, is at large.
After the murder attempt, both the murder-attempt accused had fled and were lying low. Nizam faces several cases of murder attempt, cattle theft etc in Ullal, Bajpe, and rural police station here. As he had failed to appear in the court for hearings, warrant also issued for is arrest. The police are now searching for Ansar.
On being produced in the court, Nizam was remanded to judicial custody for two weeks.
The operation to arrest the murder-accused was undertaken by rural station police inspector, Bajantri and his team under the guidance of city police commissioner,Sandeep Patil, deputy commissioners of police, Hanumantharaya and Laxmi Ganesh and city (south) assistant commissioner of police, Rama Rao.
