Mangaluru, Apr 15: On the occasion of 600th death anniversary of St Vincent Ferrer, a religious drama ‘Valencia’s Vincent Ferrer’ was staged at Valencia Church grounds on Sunday, April 14.
The drama was written and directed by Arunraj Rodrigues Valencia.
The play began with a formal stage programme. Fr Joseph Martis, rector of St Joseph seminary Jeppu, was the chief guest.
Fr Martis addressing the gathering lauded the parishioners for contributing towards a good cause by helping financially who are in need of financial assistance. He also wished all the actors good luck. Writer-director Arunraj Rodrigues and parish council secretary Lizzie Pinto were honoured during the occasion for the hard work and efforts put in for the success of the drama. Parish priest Fr James D’Souza also spoke during the occasion and welcomed the gathering. Resident priest Fr Arun Lobo and vice president of parish council Anil Lobo were also present during formal function. Parish council secretary Lizzie Pinto rendered the vote of thanks. Ace compere Dolphy Saldanha compered the formal stage programme.
The drama gave a visual treat to the spectators. Actors received tremendous applauds for the hard work and dedication. The entire cast of the drama included parishioners. The crew of the drama included writer-director Arunraj Rodrigues Valencia, assistant director Vikas Lasrado Kalakul, make-up by Flavia Rodrigues Nirkan, Kalakul, and set and prop was managed by Manish Kalakul. Flavia Mascarenhas, Savitha, Sushmita, Amrin and Shravan Baliga also from Kalakul team rendered a helping hand. Music was given by Alron Rodrigues, lights and sounds were managed by Kingsley of Angels Lights and Sounds.
Over 1,200 people witnessed the religious play.
