Mangaluru, Apr 14: Commemorating the 264th birth anniversary of founder Dr Christian Friedrich Samuel Hahnemann, ‘World Homoeopathy Day’ was celebrated on Saturday, April 13 at Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College (FMHMC) Auditorium, Deralakatte.
The dignitaries Dr Mukund A Udachankar, principal, KLE’s Homoeopathic Medical College, Belagavi, the chief guest, Dr J Carter Singh, distinguished alumnus 1995 batch, professor, and founder proprietor, Brilliant Mediplas, Chennai, guest of honour, Fr Richard Coelho, director, FMCI, president for the function, Fr Vincent Vinod Saldanha, administrator, FMHMC&H, Dr Shivaprasad K, principal, FMHMC were escorted to the dais by Dr Ranjan Clement Britto, Convener World Homoeopathy Day 2019.
The formal inauguration took place at 10.15 am by invoking God’s blessings through a prayer song by the students.
A warm welcome was extended by Dr Shivaprasad K followed by traditional lamp lighting by the dignitaries.
It was followed by the inaugural address of the chief guest where he expressed his happiness to share the dais with the alumnus and applauded the gesture of the College to invite an alumnus every year. He mentioned “Change is the eternity of life” and one should develop the moral courage like Hahnemann and to take a pledge to practice Homoeopathy in its true sense. Also one has to inculcate honesty and integrity as a core value of personality”.
Later, he gave away the Meritorious Student Cash Award of Rs 5,000 for scoring overall highest marks in the I-IV BHMS examinations sponsored by the 6th batch of Mullerians in memory of the completion of 25 years to Bijitha Mandal B G of 2013-14 batch.
Then the Administrator of FMHMC&H, Fr Vincent Vinod Saldanha, rendered his message on this occasion and stressed that every student and faculty has to communicate Homoeopathy and set a path to the followers by confronting people and negative thoughts in the public.
Later, the director of FMCI, Fr Richard Coelho, president of the programme felicitated the Guests with mementos and gave his message for the day. In his address, he encouraged the Homoeopathic students and Doctors to spread Homoeopathy and build trust in the people about the innovations in Homoeopathy and to reach wellness from wholeness.
The inauguration was concluded with the vote of thanks by the convener, Dr Ranjan Clement Britto, associate professor, department of Organon of Medicine followed by Institution anthem.
After the inauguration, the guest of honour, Dr J Carter Singh was introduced to the audience by Dr Jolly D’Mello to have his session. He shared his success stories, the life experiences at Father Mullers and encouraging the students to lead a successful personal and professional life.
Dr G Rajachandra presented a paper on ‘Perception’ the kickstarter of Chronics where he explained on how to approach a case which were very informative and appreciated by the audience.
As a part of the World Homoeopathy Day celebrations, walkathon and Literary competitions that included Paper presentation for UG, PG & interns, Aap Ki Adalat, Drug picture competition and Poster presentation were organised on April 10 and 12. Prizes were distributed to the winners in the literary competitions by the assistant administrator Fr Sylvester Vincent Lobo and guest of honour.
The celebrations ended at 1.30 pm with a sumptuous lunch.
