Kasargod, Apr 14: Rakhil Gangadharan (26), assistant commander of the Guard, who was going by a scooter for buying new clothes on account of 'Vishu' festival was killed after his two-wheeler got involved in an accident with a car. Rakhil Gangadharan was residing near the government polytechnic at Periya, and the accident happened on national highway 66 at Pollakkada on Friday.
His sister, Ragna (22), who was riding the pillion, suffered serious injuries. She stands admitted into a private hospital at Mangaluru.
A car which came from the opposite direction hit the scooter Gangadharan was riding. Immediately he was provided with initial treatment at a private hospital at Mavungal before being shifted too Mangaluru. Gangadharan breathed his last on Saturday April 13 morning.
Rakhil Gangadharan was due for promotion and had undergone training programme at Uttar Pradesh before that. After the training, he had visited his family here for 'Vishu' - Hindu New Year festival. He was the son of Periya Gangadharan and Ratnavalli couple. He is survived by wife and a sister.
