Mangaluru, Apr 12: Indian Catholic Youth Movement, Central Council, diocese of Mangaluru on the occasion of Year of Youth organised Yuva Tharbeth 2019 - Round 1 on April 7 at ICYM diocesan office, Olivet House, Jeppu, a training programme in order to make the youths more effective resource persons for the present and the future.
The programme commenced with a formal stage programme with a prayer service led by Ancita Dsouza and team. Fr Richard D’Souza, director, Canara Communication Centre, diocese of Mangaluru was the chief guest and the resource person of the day. Jaison Leroy Pereira, diocesan youth president welcomed the guests and the gathering. The dignitaries inaugurated the programme by lighting a lamp.
“World now has the largest generation of young people who are having large amount of resources among them but it all depends on when, where and how they use. The reality is that young people are not simply enough for the decent jobs but need to be extra productive and should be empowered in their workplace,” said Fr Richard D’Souza in his address. He also explained the ways to deal with our body gestures first in order to have control over ourselves and the various types of methods to utilise the potentials hidden amongst us.
The aim of compiling this training was to make the young people informed, productive, empowered and to acknowledge the potentials they have within themselves. Fevisha Monteiro, general secretary rendered the vote of thanks. Roshan Rocco, secretary, ICYM city deanery compered and concluded the programme. A total of 40 youths were present in the session. Yuva Tharbeth – 2019 consists of 3 sessions, the 2nd session will be held on April 14.
