Mangalore, Mar 16: Surendra Kumar Jain, secretary, Vishwa Hindu Parishat (VHP), demanded that the police immediately arrest those who pelted stones at vehicles which were transporting attendees of the Hindu Samajostsava on Sunday March 15.
He was speaking to press persons at the Hindu Samajostava office on Monday March 16. Jain claimed that incidents of stone pelting were reported from six places in Udupi and Dakshina Kannada districts in which several buses were damaged.
He added that these were pre-mediated attacks carried out from mosques where stones and other weapons had been stored.
“The mosques have now turned into ‘jehadi’ centres and are no longer just prayer halls. These are the places where ‘jehadi’ preaching is carried out and the stone pelting incident is a clear example of this,” said Jain.
He added that three mosques in the area of Kaup-Uchchila should be investigated by the police.
Jain said that conversion, terrorism, and anti-Hindu activities are a threat to Hinduism and we should elect an individual who is serious about protecting Hinduism.
“The Samajostava was an effort to unite Hindus and to protect and create awareness about Hindutva”, he said.
VHP leaders M B Puranik, Manohar Thulaja Ram, and Bajrang Dal leader Sharan Pumpwell were also present.
Jain had been the main speaker at the Hindu Samajostava.
