Mangalore: Khusro Kureshi Urges Minorities to Respect Feelings of Majority Community

Mangalore, Mar 15: “The minorities must respect the feelings of the majority and avoid the frequent conflicts taking place in the city and maintain harmony”, said Khusro Kureshi, president, State Minorities Commission, speaking at a press conference on Saturday March 14.

He said that the commission was on a tour of Dakshina Kannada district following the chief minister’s suggestion. Kureshi added that the commission also got the opportunity to visit the Jain Math, Moodbidri, Ullal Dargah, and Bishop House, to talk those in authority in these places.

“During the Congress rule in the state, there were some ministers from minorities but none of them worked for the welfare of the minorities”, said Kureshi. 

“Though the government led by B S Yeddyurappa is providing more opportunities for the welfare of minorities, the opposition party is considering the BJP as communal and anti-minority,” he added.

Vijaya Kumar Shetty, Anwar Rahim Uchil, and Rohit were present at the press conference.

    Mr.Kureshi, what yedi has provided or providing more opportunities to minorities rather supported laticharge,kept mum while destroying worshiping places. Never seen him innaugrating any of the project as welfare of the state but only visiting temples and annoncing more financial help. You are saying this because you are well paid and trained to talk like this. The day will come when you realise this.

    Is the any minority hates majority in India? No 99.9999%, do not hate majority. Is the majority hates minorities, 99.999999% do not have any problems with minorities. Then where is the problem? The problem is with the fractions in each communities who are up against each other, for their own personal, political requirements. With a very strong propaganda mechanism they are growing every day. This problem could have been easily solved provided Govt enforces laws impartially and strictly. Unfortunately, that dangerous fraction today includes as part of state govt. That is the true tragedy.

    Kurshi and his cronies from Mangalore(We, well aware of Your intentions and not care for a Damn for you)keep your chamchagiri to your Masters and never try to advice minorities.Just get filled your stomach from whatever you can fetch from this govt.in the name of minoroties, keep away from minority affairs and leave us to handle our issues.You are not worth advicing us.

    It should be mutual, reciprocal and bilateral. Give respect and take respect and it applies to both the communities equally. It cant be unilateral and one way. We are practicing this since ages and certainly we dont require your advise. Please keep yourself away from this dirty game as it looks like that you need fame.

    Dear Kureshi Totallly it is not your fault. You are appointed by the BJP Government so you have to speak in favour of them.Who are the responsible for attacks on Churches innocent girls and boys Minority community or Majority community. Maar bhi khao aur naseehat bhi lo wah khureshi sahib Jai Ho.

    Mr.Kureshi, I would have welcomed your statement if you were speaking on behalf of the minorities whom you represent as the Chairman of the Minorities Commission but your voice is clearly that of the BJP Government and Yediyurappa. You are supposed to take up the issues concerning minorities whereas you are trying to flatter your BJP bosses in Bangalore. Are you stepping into the shoes of Nirmala Venkatesh? Are you aspiring for a MP ticket? In a civilized society every one should respect every one’s feelings, no one has any right to hurt anybody’s feelings but certainly it is not the job of the Chairman of the Minorities Commission to advise the minorities to respect the feelings of the majority. Mr.Kureshi, if you cannot perform your duties, it is ok but do not ever try to fish in the troubled waters.

    Can you please define the feelings of those !. Is it not to wear Burka?.Is it hurting if a non "majority" person speaks to the " Majority" girl?. So what else?. Most of the citizens of "majority" are really peace lovers and kind hearted. And always the minority are respecting them. Only some goondas hate minorities for the personal benefits.

    Mr.Kureshi If the girl chased in public & attacked was your daughter,do u give this suggestion. If ur place of worship was attacked & discreated,do u give this suggestion. if ur freedom is taken away from you, do u give this suggestion if some outsider takes decision about ur children, do you give this suggestion I agree with you that congress didnot work for welfare of people but didnot interfere in ur matters or make create unrest in karnataka especially in Mangalore as mangalore was know for its peace & all people of different caste & language lived with peace,what happened to it after BJP government came to power.

    One more chamcha - trying to get support from minority, he must have been paid ransom, to get this statement. let him or his family feel the pain - then he will change his statement. it is easy to speak on stage than practice. where were these beggars when we are killed, burnt and looted.

    Dear Mr.Kureshi with due respect to your position we do not require your preaching as in Mangalore Karwar coastal belt people are living in harmony as one community. Pls visit Hampankatta fish market where both community fish vendor's sell fish without any bias. Anywhere in the world it is the duty of the majority to see that minority are protected whether religious or creed. The duty of majority community is to accept the minority, not to create any hate campaign nor spread enmity of non acceptance. Can u please suggest the CM to give the same adivse to majority community the way you had advised to minority. Hope you got our message clear.
