Mangaluru Apr 9: Mangaluru North MLA Dr Bharath Y Shetty has demanded an explanation from chief minister H D Kumaraswamy on the state governments decision on withdrawing 142 cases.
Addressing media here on Tuesday, April 9, Dr Bharath Y Shetty said," State government has taken the decision of withdrawing 142 cases in which Ulaibettu incident was one among them. Our district has maintained peace and harmony since the people have selected 7 BJP MLAs who are focused on the path of development. Withdrawing Ulaibettu incident appeases one community which has created an atmosphere that may lead to disruption of peace and harmony in the district. Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy should answer to the public with regard to the case withdrawal.”
He also said," H D Kumaraswamy had passed remarks that people in coastal district lack knowledge. Now with the same coastal district people H D Kumaraswamy is campaigning and asking for votes. Coalition government needs to answer to people about his remarks.”
“Congress has released the district manifesto. We are ready to give the facts about Rs 16,500 crore released to the district from the centre. Even Congress should present the facts about their funds to the district and how much it was utilized. In the manifesto it has mentioned about developing industries. So far State government has never shown interest in developing industries in my constituency,” he alleged.
Former mayor Ganesh Hosabettu, Kiran Kodical, Sudhakar Adyar and others were present.
